Prayer Topic, "High Cost"

Join Us in Prayer for our Nation, our Leaders and Topics of Concern for the week of 11/27/15 – 12/03/15

High Cost

Ronnie Biggs, one of the criminals who participated in the Great Train Robbery in 1963, lived most of his life as a sort of celebrity fugitive from the law. After escaping from prison in England, he fled to France, then Australia, then Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He successfully fought off attempts by British authorities to extradite him, and spent most of his time regaling tourists of his criminal exploits.

As for you, brothers, do not grow weary in doing good.
II Thessalonians 3:13

Here, though, are the numbers: Biggs collected 43,000 from the train robbery. He spent 0,000 on plastic surgery in in an attempt to alter his features. He paid 5,000 to various couriers to get him into countries illegally. The rest went for legal fees. He lived quite miserably and poorly off of the sale of mugs and t-shirts…and after all that eventually ended up in jail anyway.

“Doing good” is the way to live your life – and it’s ultimately and infinitely more rewarding than a life of crime, dishonesty or laziness. As you work to better America today and serve your Lord, be thankful that He will give you the energy, tenacity and stamina to see through what He’s called you to do. Do not grow weary!

Prayer Topic, "Fresh Wind"

Join Us in Prayer for our Nation, our Leaders and Topics of Concern for the week of 11/20/15 – 11/26/15

Fresh Wind

God chose two men, Jonathan Edwards and George Whitefield, to proclaim the gospel during the eighteenth century period known as the First Great Awakening. Edwards and Whitefield were key Americans who preached in New England colonies with an emphasis on the need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. As a result, revival spread throughout the colonies and people were committed to a new standard of personal morality. Charles Finney was an American Presbyterian minister and leader in the Second Great Awakening during the early nineteenth century in the United States. During this time, church membership soared and revival was implemented through camp meetings.

Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and call out against it the message that I tell you.
Jonah 3:2

Romans 10:15 says, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” As a result of their obedience to God’s call, Edwards, Whitefield and Finney had a profound impact on America’s Godly foundation.

Remember to give thanks for these men and others who have chosen to embrace the Lord’s commission to preach His Word. Pray for strength for your spiritual leaders. Ask your Heavenly Father for a fresh wind of revival to spread throughout this nation as many boldly proclaim the redemptive truth of Jesus Christ.

PRAYER ALERT: ISIS TERROR WARNING

PRAYER ALERT:  ISIS TERROR WARNING:  Washington, D.C., London, and Rome next in Line for an Attack by Jihadists

ISIS TERROR WARNING: Washington, D.C., London, Rome Next in Line for Attack by Jihadists

Washington, D.C. is at risk from the next Islamic State attack, supporters of the evil terror group have warned in unconfirmed tweets.

In a video gloating over the success of the attacks in Paris that killed at least 129 people, ISIS "armchair" jihadists said that they have three major capitals in their sights for the next attack: Washington, D.C., Rome and London.

Officials have reportedly been working tirelessly to thwart ISIS attacks in the U.S. and Europe since the militants declared a caliphate last summer.

CIA Director John Brennan said the attacks were just the latest signs of a "maturing external operations agenda" that Islamic State is "now implementing with lethal effect." He warned a standing-only crowd at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, "I certainly would not consider it a one-off event," and anticipated that ISIS has "more in the pipeline." House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (Texas) said there are active investigations concerning ISIS ongoing in all 50 states. Last month, FBI Director James Comey said there were 900 active investigations of ISIS operatives in the U.S.

McCaul also said he has filed a bill to allow Congress to either approve or disapprove of some 10,000 Syrian refugees to come into the United States, and that issue has become even more urgent, as at least one, and possibly two of the terrorists involved in Friday’s attacks in Paris, were Syrian refugees. "We want to stop that storm from hitting the United States and the homeland," McCaul said.

As the Lord leads, please pray:

  • For Gods’ protection over America, and freedom from fear of imminent ISIS actions in the United States.
  • For law enforcement and intelligence agencies in the U.S to apprehend ISIS operatives on American soil.
  • That Americans would take the ISIS threat seriously.
  • About bringing Syrian refugees into the U.S., and the vetting process.

Prayer Topic, "Godly Principles"

Join Us in Prayer for our Nation, our Leaders and Topics of Concern for the week of 11/13/15 – 11/19/15

Godly Principles

America has a unique heritage that is rooted in a dependence on God and His biblical principles. These principles for a godly nation were well understood by the late President Ronald Reagan when he wrote:

Keep the charge of the Lord your God, keeping his statutes…that you may prosper in all that you do.
I Kings 2:3

“To preserve our blessed land we must look to God. It is time to realize that we need God more than He needs us. Let us, young and old, join together, as did the First Continental Congress, in the first step, in humble heartfelt prayer. Let us do so for the love of God and His great goodness, in search of His guidance and the grace of repentance, in seeking His blessings, His peace and the resting of His kind and holy hands on ourselves, our nation, and our friends in the defense of freedom and all mankind, now and always.”

Take a moment to thank the Lord for the Godly leaders who have helped shape this nation. Pray that Christians will elect people who love and follow Him. Intercede for all of your national and local leaders to courageously uphold scriptural principles personally and publicly.

Prayer Topic, "Heart for Prayer"

Join Us in Prayer for our Nation, our Leaders and Topics of Concern for the week of 11/6/15 – 11/12/15

Heart for Prayer

One of the most recognized women of the Old Testament, Deborah was known for her wisdom and her courage as a military leader. Faced with 900 chariots of iron, Deborah’s army of 10,000 Israelites rushed down from the hills and clashed with the Canaanite general Sisera near the Kishon River. The battle was a total victory and the army of Sisera was destroyed.

Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth, was judging Israel at that time.
Judges 4:4

Deborah also influenced the people to live for the Lord after the battle was over. She was a prophetess whose main role was to encourage the people to obey Him. Deborah was a mighty prayer warrior who aroused the people of Israel from their lethargy and despair.

Although the phrase is not found in Scripture, a “prayer warrior” is generally thought of as a Christian who prays continually for others. Prayer warriors have a heart for God, a heart for prayer, a heart for people, and a heart for this nation. Thank your Heavenly Father today for the Godly heritage He has given America. Intercede as a prayer warrior for those national and local leaders who love Him. Ask God to give them wisdom and courage to make righteous decisions every day.
