God’s Purpose
Kara
Tippetts is a 38-year-old married mother of four who understands the fear and
pain of stage four cancer diagnosis. Yet Kara’s approach to her illness has
been to rest in the grace of God and to find power in living faithfully moment
by moment, squeezing the goodness out of each day.
And we know that for those who love God all
things work together for good.
Romans 8:28

“We
thought my pastor-husband and I would help the broken,” Kara says. “But Jesus
planned for us to be the broken. We opened our hands to strength and grasped
the weakness handed to us. From the despair, beauty was born. We were invited
to dine at the table of those who came with us and salt our every meal with our
own tears.”
The sufferings endured by followers of Christ are neither in vain nor outside of God’s sovereign control. In fact, those who “are called according to his purpose” learn to accept, not resent, pain and persecution because God is with them.
Thank the Lord for the Christian leaders in this nation who are shining examples of God’s faithfulness despite difficult circumstances. Pray that many people would come to embrace Jesus Christ as a result.

Pray for these topics of concern:
CIA intelligence-gathering techniques used in the aftermath of
the 9/11 attacks and detailed in the Senate’s torture report are "contrary
to who we are," President Obama said in an interview.
The Islamic State has wreaked enough havoc with conventional
weapons over the last several months, so the thought that they may also possess
a radiological device is chilling to say the least.
Leaders in Congress reached a deal on a more than $1.1 trillion
spending package that would fund most of the federal government through the
current fiscal year.
The GOP’s draft 2015 "omnibus" spending bill
reportedly includes $948 million to help poor and unskilled Central American
migrants establish themselves in the United States.
Congress is poised to approve visas for 4,000 more Afghan
interpreters who aided the U.S. in the war on terror, but thousands of
translators will remain in harm’s way due to a shortage of the entry
authorizations.
ObamaCare consultant Jonathan Gruber apologized Tuesday for his
remarks about "the stupidity of the American voter," telling a
Congressional committee he did not think President Obama’s signature healthcare
law was passed in a deceptive manner.
All prayer requests are made
directly from our Presidential Prayer Leader.
We ask you all to pray for
our leaders as the scripture says.
1
Timothy 2:1-3 (KJV)
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may
lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our
Saviour;
